- Advocacy Center for Immigrant Women Empowerment
Provides immigrant/refugee battered women and their children with direct services,
advocacy, emergency assistance with basic needs, and assistance with accessing
resources including affordable housing and services relevant to their needs.
- African Village
Currently in development, this project will include housing, small businesses,
a community center, and a daycare center.
Services
- Advocacy
ISAW plays a role in bringing changes to laws and policies that place barriers
to self-sufficiency.
- General Self-Sufficiency Services
Assistance with accessing training in self-sufficiency skills i.e. ESL classes,
GED assistance, citizenship test assistance, driver’s education assistance,
computer training; employment; micro-enterprise development.
- Resource Bank
Culturally and linguistically appropriate information and referral source.
Similar to a “First Call for Help” but specifically for immigrant
and refugee women.
